The creative heritage of the master of Ukrainian painting Ivan Nikolaevich Shulga is a continuation of the best realistic traditions of the Itinerant artists. Since 1927, he has been a participant in numerous regional, all-Ukrainian, republican, all-Union, international and foreign art exhibitions. Since 1926, a member of the Association of Artists of Red Ukraine (AHCU), from 1930-1931. member of the Ukrainian Art Association (UMO). Ivan Shulga had many-sided talent and worked in different genres. He painted portraits, genre paintings , landscapes , historical genre , still lifes , political posters , illustrated magazines and books . He made a great contribution to the development of the Ukrainian national fine arts and carried the most important task of educating the young generation of Ukrainian artists  . For many years of fruitful work and for his great contribution to the development of the Ukrainian Soviet fine arts, Ivan Nikolaevich Shulga in 1946 was awarded the honorary title - Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR .
